Main Goals of the Conference?

• Connect employers seeking highly motivated employees with exceptional veterans.
• Make unique introductions not available anywhere else.
• Be the most valued source of ideal candidates for growing companies.

Am I Qualified to Attend?

If you have served the US Military in Active Duty, Reserves or Guard in the past this makes you a Veteran and you may attend at no charge. If you have not served in one of these capacities in the past unfortunately this is an event reserved exclusively for veterans.

Any Candidate Tips for Success?

There will be far more companies in attendance than you can meet (typically 50-100) so focus on quality rather than quantity. The most successful candidates meet a number of companies to identify the 2-3 companies/positions they would most enjoy and where they are highly qualified, they make a personal connection with those 2-3 recruiters during the instant interviews, then follow-up with those 2-3 recruiters after the conference. If you do these 3 basic things there is a very good chance you will get an offer for one of your ideal jobs.

Be sure to allow at least 2 hours to choose and meet some key employers. Realistically you could meet about half the companies present if you attend the entire event. You can meet more top employers wanting to meet you here in just a few hours than you could in a whole year of responding to job ads (highly productive time very well spent).

On the day of the event bring enough resumes (suggest 7 resume copies per hour so in 3 hours that is 21 resumes and introductions but focus on those 3 opportunities you are most interested in). The dress is business casual (for men nice slacks and open-collar shirt with sport coat or tie purely optional). All industries and levels of positions are available (individual contributors, professionals, management, and executive level). You will really enjoy the wonderful companies who value what your past service represents. Be sure to register FREE right now to ensure you will get in.

Any Employer Tips for Success?

Typically there will be 300-600 veterans in attendance (see the Demographics in the "For Employers" tab). You will be supplied with a tabletop, a black drape over it, and two chairs at no charge. About 30% of employers bring their company's trade booth but this is purely optional. Some use pop-up displays which set up in under 5 minutes and work great. Some just use self-serve pamphlet stands which is fine since you should be in front of your table drawing candidates in. You may begin setting up 2 hours before the event and you should plan to be completely ready 20-30 minutes before the event start time. Tabletops usually take about 20 minutes to prep but if bringing your company booth be sure to allow enough time and it is very useful to have someone present from your company that has assembled your booth in the past.

On pamphlets and handouts usually about 120-200 will last the full job fair depending on your style of working the candidates (less if you keep them on the table and candidates must go through you to get them). Most recruiters will put a note on their business card or clip it to the pamplet for candidates you especially like during the instant interviews (and place some remember notes on their resumes for later follow-up). If you have moments between candidates work those passing by -- if you see one who looks the part ask them what they are looking for as they may not be aware your company has what they are seeking (work the crowd between instant interviews).

For those companies who get the higher packages they include access to the attendee list about a week in advance of the conference including things like their experience, which functions, level of position they are seeking, etc. It is a good idea to filter these for candidates you are particularly interested in meeting and then sending them an email asking that they find your booth during the conference (some recruiters even set times in advance to balance out their job fair schedule).

Are the Facilities ADA Compliant?

Yes, there is handicapped access to all main entrances and conference areas. We can also make special accommodations if needed (please contact the hotel to coordinate).
